Here’s one I made earlier….
I love what I do. I enjoy managing the social media platforms for a local business, I love training businesses to understand social media and how it can work for them and I relish the challenge thrown at me when a business has a specific problem they need solving.

The latter happened recently. Little Possum Parties based near Letchworth has no website and uses their Facebook page to promote their business and they have found, until the introduction of the new business pages, that this worked for them. After this change in March they have been receiving many similar queries concerning the prices and information of the party packages; something that had never occurred previously and was now eating into their business time. They had not removed, altered or hidden this information on the Facebook page but with the new business page layout evidently this information was not as readily accessible as previously and without a website to direct potential customers to using a static iframe tab (click here to see one I installed for another local business) this was a problem.
Chatting through the potential solutions we decided together that creating a custom business page on Facebook, accessible by clicking a visual tab on the business page called ‘About” was the best solution in relation to budget, requirements and accessibility. We simply duplicated much of the information that can be found clicking the small, blue ‘About’ under the Company/Business information section (see image below) but which humans, being attracted by visuals, often neglect and where many businesses hide place their important information including their website address. Let’s also face facts - it if we do click this blue ‘About’ option how many of us really digest and read the information? We humans are generally lazy, we want a website address where we can easily go to find the details we need in a few clicks (as an aside, if you don’t have your website address visible or accessible on your business page you are missing a trick!).

It does seem that for some users (particularly Window based) this tab doesn’t always work so it would be great to get your feedback to see if you can access the information or get an error message. For me, from the Mac as yet I have not had an issue. Please do let me know.
